Well - yes - we can be and are forgiven of our sins if we turn to Christ. And yes, there are a variety of things wrong with our schools, or at least blatant double standards. We need to address those.

But these GSAs are not leading teenagers to Christ, nor to turn from homosexuality. They are promoting a lifestyle that is contrary to Biblical teaching. They exclude parents from any role in developing the sexual identity of their children. They foster the idea that by disagreeing with the homosexual lifestyle that one is "homophobic."

The sexual identity and practices of teenagers is so volatile that its development should not be left up to student groups and outside agencies. These discussions should take place within the realm of the family, and guided by practices of faith.

OK - I'll bite on this one...

9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, (get rid of proms)
nor idolaters, (get rid of football)
nor adulterers, (get rid of the PTA, teachers, administrators)
nor effeminate, (get rid of all historical Shakespeare)
nor abusers of themselves with mankind, (get rid of standardized tests)
10 Nor thieves, (get rid of administrators)
nor covetous, (get rid of teacher salaries)
nor drunkards, (prom again, politicians visiting schools)
nor revilers, (cheerleaders)
nor extortioners, (guidance counselors)
shall inherit the kingdom of God.

But you know that the next verse states......

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Life is a journey and the folks of Corinth were allowed that sojourn - even as adults. I have a lot more respect for a young person who has sinned and come back to Christ than for one who has never wandered. They are much more interesting.

20 I say unto you, can ye think of being saved when you have yielded yourselves to become subjects to the devil?
21 I say unto you, ye will know at that day that ye cannot be saved; for there can no man be saved except his garments are washed white; yea, his garments must be purified until they are cleansed from all stain, through the blood of him of whom it has been spoken by our fathers, who should come to redeem his people from their sins. Alma 5:20-21
