“This country wants us to move” on health care reform – Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn.
No, Congressman, they do not. According to the latest Rasmussen poll, 52% of voters oppose the bill. 42% favor it, leaving 6% who do not really know what is going on. Rasmussen Reports.
What is even more unsettling, is that despite the numbers that are opposed to this bill, according to the same Rasmussen poll a majority believe it will go through. In other words, Speaker Pelosi, Senator Reid, and President Obama do not really care what the American people want.
Why should they – because it is not really about health care anyway. If these changes were truly along the lines of reform that are promised – then the first order of business would be to reduce the tremendous burden that frivolous lawsuits put on the health care system. The bill does not address tort reform in any meaningful way. If it were about reducing health care costs, then the bill would allow insurance companies to compete nationwide, and for businesses and individuals to purchase insurance across state lines. Such competition would naturally lower costs. The democrats are opposed to such measures. If we wanted to lower the overall cost of health care on families we would reduce the taxes that individuals and businesses have to pay – allowing them to purchase the plans that they want. Congress instead wants to raise taxes.
This is not about reform, nor about health care. This move is nothing short of socializing 1/6th of our nation’s economy. The Dems wants to do it with the oil business – why not health care?
Rep. DeLauro, Americans do not want this bill to pass. We do not want to be like the failed socialized countries around the world. We will do everything legally possible to stop you.
