I think there are some fundamental differences between the parties. Problem is - those in leadership in the GOP do not want to emphasize those differences. The frustration of the rank and file Republicans - especially the Freshman - is that they were elected to change the way Washington and the party does business. These deals - both last years Super Committee and this 2-month extension - continue to take the knees right out.

I am convinced that if the GOP sticks to the historic principles of less government, less taxes, strong national security, and more individual responsibility - and figure out how to get that message out - they will not only win elections, but reignite the soul of America.

Ron Paul certainly walks to his own drummer - and is not afraid to be different. I cannot support him because he is an isolationist and his adherence to some core Libertarian platforms that I cannot support.

The entire system is corrupt with lobbyist money. There is very little actual difference between the parties. I went from being a Democrat to Republican to waking up and realizing that there is little difference. The coprorations and governement are so entwined. There is no more "of the people, by the people, and for the people". It is now "of the corporations, by the corporations, and for the corporations" - oh, that's right "corporations are people". In my opinion, we need to wash clean the entire cesspool of our capital and put in some mighty clear corruption proof safeguards. Too many people turn their time in office into a money-making opportunity.
He may not be perfect, but I am a Ron Paul supporter. We need his kind of actual change.

Dave -

1. In our country - 18. That is when the child can vote, be drafted, and is legally responsible for debts.
2. Because they are children, the parents are responsible for overseeing their kids, and for any havoc they may cause. In this case, I think the parents should strip their children of non-school related internet, ground them until they are 35, do some sort of community service, and of course apologize to their principals, They did just the opposite - and probably condoned all the lawsuits.

Good post, but a few questions:
1. At what age, then does one cease to be a child, who determines that, and why?
2. Upon whom do think the responsibility of enforcement lies, regarding the above speech?

YES YES YES--as a small business owner--I totally agree! From commercial building regulations, employee taxes and the wonderful fact that you can't fire an employee not able to show up for work regularly without them being able to collect unemployment, an employee can refuse to be rehired and still collect unemployment, an employee can go back to school to train for a new career and still collect unemployment, even when they are offered their job back--and the employer now pays over 9% in unemployment taxes to keep it up. The small business owner is always wrong, according to the unemployment dept. And that does include the risk of hiring anyone with an every growing list of "disabilities" that must be accommodated or risk a wrongful termination lawsuit. Fear of lawsuits dictate A LOT of business and medical practices--a healthy environment is not living in fear.

Now that's my Korky talking! Now I want to hear about what you do on a daily/weekly basis to make positive change in your community. You were always passionate about your causes and I'll bet you are doing a lot and having an effect on many people. I look forward to reading Reuel--may not always agree, but willing to listen. That's what friends are for---missed you, buddy! This dentist went to Harvard--learned a thing or to about thinking there.... S

Good word, Reuel! The Gospel is the cure for my sin-sick soul! Reminds me of this from J. C. Ryle:

"The secret of being holy ourselves is to know and feel that Christ has pardoned our sins. Peace with God is the only root that will bear the fruit of holiness. Forgiveness must go before sanctification.”
